It essentially aims to be your digital Swiss Army knife but with so many features under the hood, does it actually simplify your life, or does it turn into an overwhelming collection of tools you’ll never fully use?

Notion’s free version gives you the essentials—note-taking, basic task management, and simple databases, all with a clean interface. It's flexible enough to handle personal projects or light team collaboration. It also integrates well with other apps like Slack and Google Drive.
But if you’re a heavy user, the free plan has limits: file uploads are capped, and collaboration options are basic. Upgrading unlocks unlimited file uploads, advanced permissions, and access to version history. For power users managing large projects or teams, these extras can be valuable, but casual users may most likely never feel the need to upgrade.

However, if you’re already comfortable with a segmented approach—using Google Docs for writing, Airtable for databases, or Asana for project management—switching to an all-in-one platform might feel unnecessary. It ultimately depends on whether you want to consolidate tools or prefer using specialized apps for different tasks.
